Refining the Workflow
This model was created over a semester in the 3D Animation Project unit at Swinburne University of Technology in 2021. As a hobbyist solo game designer, I understood the value of executing a simple design to the highest quality going into this project. As such, I chose a simple monster concept design with interesting and varied components that would allow for that extrapolation as I aimed to make a realistic version of the concept. Only having done a few models start-to-finish previously, this was an opportunity for me to refine my workflow for 3D modelling and texturing. Using Maya for the modelling and rigging, and Substance 3D Painter for the texturing, I submitted the project on schedule and felt much more confident in my ability to create an asset from start to finish going forward.

Inspired to Experiment
This project was an assignment completed over a semester in the 3D Animation Project unit at Swinburne University of Technology in 2021. Tasked with designing, modelling, texturing and rendering three symbols each week, this project tested me and pushed me to grow. The idea for 36 Days of Type began as a personal project for graphic designers Nina Sans and Rafa Goicoechea where they decided to challenge themselves and create something new and experiment every day, and have inspired many around the world to try the project themselves. For me, this project was an experiment to learn as many different aspects of Maya and Substance 3D Painter as I could, while at the same time refining my 3D Modelling workflow.
